Description
The RCT801 is the orange-version counterpart to the RCT800, offering the same high-performance, high-visibility protection but in Hi-Vis Orange instead of yellow. It is especially used for rail, highway or work-zones where orange is the preferred visibility colour.
Materials & Construction
-
Built with 80% recycled polyester outer fabric.
-
Mono-material construction for improved end-of-life recyclability.
-
Same 2-layer hydrophilic membrane fabric as RCT800 (waterproof + breathable).
-
Bluesign® C0 DWR treatment.
Performance & Protection
-
Hydrostatic head: 20,000 mm — matches RCT800’s performance.
-
Breathability: 21,000 g/m² plus RET around 6 (and 8.3 with liner) — same high standard.
-
Fully taped seams.
Design & Functional Features
-
Helmet-compatible removable hood with 3-point adjustment and curved stiff peak.
-
Waterproof 2-way zip, internal storm flap, chin guard.
-
Brushed collar lining, tactile zip pulls for ease of use with gloves.
-
Adjustable Velcro cuffs, curved hem with shock cord for rear coverage (especially useful when bending or reaching).
Certification & Visibility
-
EN ISO 20471 Class 3 (Hi-Vis Orange).
-
EN 343 Class 4:4:X waterproof/breathable.
-
RIS 3279-TOM certification (rail-industry specification) — makes the jacket suitable for use on rail infrastructure, where orange Hi-Vis garments are specified to avoid confusion with yellow signalling.
Use Case Summary
Specifically great for rail, transport or road-works environments where orange Hi-Vis is mandated. Offers the same elite weather-protection and sustainability credentials as the RCT800, but in the visibility colour required for those sectors.
Key Differences & Considerations
-
Colour / Visibility: RCT800 is Hi-Vis Yellow; RCT801 is Hi-Vis Orange. Choose according to your site or industry visibility requirements.
-
Sector / Certification: RCT801 includes RIS 3279-TOM certification for rail – if you’re working in rail/track environments, that may make the RCT801 the compliance-choice.
-
All other technical specs (waterproofing, breathability, recycled material content, design features) are essentially identical between the two models.
-
Sustainability: Both jackets are built with 80% recycled polyester outer and mono-material structure for end-of-life recyclability. If environmental credentials matter to you or your organisation, both deliver.
-
Practical Fit & Function: Both include helmet-compatible hood, taped seams, highly rated waterproofing and breathability, adjustable fit features. So the decision is largely driven by required Hi-Vis colour / workplace standard.
