PULSAR® React RCT802 & RCT803 GRS Waterproof Overtrouser – Various Colours

£66.00 ex VAT

[display_tax]

The PULSAR REACT RCT803 & 802 is a hi-visibility, waterproof over-trouser designed for demanding work environments. Instead of being a jacket, this is a protective layer for your lower body — made to be worn over your regular work pants. It’s part of Pulsar’s REACT line, which emphasizes high performance, environmental responsibility, and ruggedness.

Material & Construction

  • Outer Fabric: 80% recycled polyester — this helps reduce environmental impact.

  • Reinforcements: The knee and hem panels use a more robust, dark grey polyester oxford fabric to boost durability in high-abrasion zones.

  • Waterproofing System:

    • Uses a 2-layer fabric with a non-porous hydrophilic membrane for a balance of waterproofing and breathability.

    • Hydrostatic head: 20,000 mm, meaning it can withstand very heavy rain.

    • Taped seams throughout to prevent water ingress.

  • DWR Treatment: The fabric is treated with a bluesign® C0 durable water repellent (DWR), which is more environmentally friendly.

Breathability & Comfort

  • Breathability Rating: 21,000 g/m² — this high breathability helps manage sweat and body heat, especially during active work.

  • RET (Water Vapor Resistance):

    • ~6.16 in standard use

    • ~8.3 when combined with a liner — both values are low enough to exceed EN 343 Class 4 for breathability.

  • Fit: Unisex — designed to fit over existing trousers, so there’s some room allowance.

  • Waist: Elasticated waistband with a draw-cord for adjustable, secure fit.

Functional Features

  • Reflective Tape:

    • One band of 5 cm wide reflective tape around the thigh

    • Two bands (5 cm each) around the lower leg — improves visibility in low light.

  • Waterproof Zips:

    • At the hip — these allow you to access pockets on your base layer (i.e., the pants underneath) without removing the over-trousers.

    • At the hem — with an expanding gusset so you can more easily pull the trousers over your boots.

  • Cargo Pockets: Thigh cargo pockets with press-stud closures provide practical storage.

  • Durability: Reinforced knees and hem (as noted) to stand up to regular wear in rough environments.

Certifications & Compliance

  • EN 343:2019 Class 4.4.X — for waterproofness and breathability.

  • EN ISO 20471:2013 + A1:2016, Class 2 — guaranteeing a standardized level of high-visibility.

  • RIS-3279-TOM:2019 (Orange Only) — this is a rail-industry standard, making these overtrousers suitable for rail work.

  • Wash Durability: Certified for repeated industrial washing (25 wash cycles) under EN ISO 20471.

Use Cases & Benefits

  • Ideal For: Workers in construction, rail (Orange Only), utilities, and other sectors where weather protection and high visibility are critical.

  • Wet Weather Protection: Excellent for rainy, windy, or damp work environments, keeping the lower body dry.

  • Safety: The reflective tape enhances visibility in low-light or high-risk zones.

  • Sustainability: Recycled fabric plus mono-material design (if applicable) improves recyclability and lowers environmental footprint.

  • Practicality: Easy to layer over regular workwear; hip access zip lets you reach trousers underneath; cargo pockets provide storage.

Strengths & Considerations

Strengths:

  • High waterproof rating + taped seams = very reliable protection

  • Excellent breathability for active wear

  • Good visibility with reflective tape

  • Rail-compliant (RIS 3279) — important for industry-specific roles (Orange Only)

  • Durable reinforcements at wear points

Considerations:

  • As over-trousers, they are meant to go over rather than replace existing pants

  • Elastic waistband and drawcord may feel less structured than a fixed waistband

  • Reflective tape is less than what you’d find on some Class 3 trousers/garments (only two lower leg bands)

Summary

The PULSAR REACT RCT803 & 802 is a high-performance, hi-vis waterproof over-trouser engineered for professional use. It balances serious weather protection (20,000 mm hydrostatic head, taped seams) with strong breathability (21,000 g/m², low RET), all while using 80% recycled materials. With strong certifications (EN 343, EN ISO 20471, RIS-3279), reinforced construction, and practical features like cargo pockets and boot-friendly leg zips, it’s very well-suited for construction, rail, or other high-risk, wet-weather job sites.

Lightweight, highly waterproof and breathable overtrousers designed to provide wet weather protection over workwear, keeping you dry and visible in a downpour.

  • 80% recycled polyester outer fabric
  • bluesign® C0 DWR treatment
  • 20,000mm hydrostatic head rating for protection in heavy rain
